Zero Skateboard Decks

Zero Skateboard Decks - 1996 Jamie Thomas

When it comes to Skateboard Brands with history, Zero Skateboards is going to be at the top of the list. Who can we thank for this incredible brand? That would be Jamie Thomas, the founder of Zero skateboards who started this aggressive and rebellious brand in 1996. With the bloody skulls, dark graphics, and raw talent on the Zero team, you knew exactly what skaters were using a Zero Skate Deck.

Although the Zero Skateboard company was founded in 1996, the Zero skate deck wasn't originally in the mix, as the Zero company started by making apparel. Imagine a world without Zero Skate decks, yeah, that was a reality back in the mid 90's. Fast forward to mid 1997 and the team members of Zero were receiving their first decks.

The skaters that were part of the Zero team were pushing the limits of what is possible on a skateboard and man, they were aggressive. Zero Skate Decks were not for skaters who weren't trying to conquer any and all streets out there. It was a team filled with the boldest and some of the most creative skaters out there. Jamie Thomas, the founder and current owner of Zero Skateboards is the one who set the tone and made Zero Skate Company every thing it is. Even to this day in 2026, Jamie Thomas is still the owner of Zero Skateboards.

The Success and History of Zero Skateboards

Zero Skateboards has a very special place at TheDeckHouse.com because of the fact it was our owners very first board. Yup, that is right, a Zero Skateboard back about 15 years ago and he still remembers everything about that deck. A black board, white skull, and pink blood all over the bottom of the skull. An iconic deck that made not only our owner but kids all over the world fall in love with Zero Skateboards.

Enough about us though, the success of Zero is completely due to the fact that their graphics were edgy, aggressive, and unique. In the world of skateboards, companies come and go, but Zero has been around, stayed around, and is thriving in 2026. This is entirely because of how Jamie Thomas has always made Zero unique, ever since 1996, by recruiting top talent, new graphics that nobody offered, and high quality boards.

Zero known for high quality boards, has been producing and making their boards in Mexico since 2003. For skaters who like American Decks, Zero won't be the board for you, but with that being said, Zero Skateboards are still very durable and the highest of quality.

With a history like Zero Skateboards it consisted of amazing skating and honestly, hardly any drama. That to us at TheDeckHouse.com is why the Zero Skate Company has been able to thrive for over 25 years. It also helps to have a skater like Chris Cole being on your team, as he won skater of the year and is one of the best skaters of all time.
